Famous Culture is founded by audio engineer and music producer Jeremiah James Ortiz and Erick Ortega Franco. Jeremiah grew up in southern California in a small upperÂclass community called Capistrano Beach, between San Clemente and Laguna Beach. Jeremiah found his passion for music at the age of seven, when his mother, Elizabeth Ortiz, took him to see the movie “School of Rockâ€, starring actor Jack Black. Jeremiah recieved his first guitar that christmas, along with the soundtrack of “School of Rockâ€. Jeremiah spent his elementary and middle school years dedicted to the practice of many styles of the guitar including classical, flamanco, jazz, electric, and accoustic styles of the guitar. In , Jeremiah had received an acceptance into a prestigous art school called Orange County High School of the Arts, or OCHSA for short, where many other talented and famous individuals cultivated their talents, such as Glee star Matt Morrison, Drake & Josh’s Drake Bell, and High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens. For Jeremiah, this was his “School of Rockâ€. Jeremiah would take the train everyday from San Clemente to Santa Ana, withstanding early mornings and late nights just to attain attendance at this high school of the arts. A year later, beacuase of his high potential, Jeremiah became homeschooled, as well as attending units of classes at the saddleback community college, where he took Music Theory and Multi DigitalÂTrack Recording, in which he learned to compose, read, perform, record, mix, and master music professionally. During this time, Jeremiah picked up a passion for creating beats, producing, DJing, and mixing tracks in programs such as Ableton Live Suite, Pro Tools , FLÂStudio, and Native Instrument’s Traktor Pro. Jeremah James began sneaking out to DJ and perform parties locally for freinds. Nights where he wasn’t performing, Jeremiah would spend countless hours practicing his musical abilities eventually becomeing a musical genius at the age of sixteen. He then enrolled into a five and a half month militaryÂstructured leadership academy called Sunburst Youth Challenge Academy, at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces training base, where he spent twentyÂtwo weeks (away from home) obtaining values such as discipline, integrity, courage, honor, and commitment. This is where he met Erick Franco and conceived the idea of “Famous Cultureâ€.
Following the Military Academy, Jeremiah then went on to graduate High School at San Juan Hills High while being trained by Electronic Creatives which is a boutique music and technology consulting firm that specializes in design and development for audio / visual performance and production. He met Laura EscudeÌ, Henry Strange, Mike Parvizi, Preston James, David Striet, and Henry Allen at an Ableton Live conference in Pasadena and began to train with Henry Allen, who enabled Jeremiah to an entire world of musical possibilities.
